Assignment – I

Answer the following in about 500 words each.

1. Discuss the functionalist approach of social stratification.

Functionalists also argue that social stratification creates a division of labor that allows society to function more efficiently. By allocating individuals to specific roles and positions, society can ensure that everyone is contributing to the overall well-being of the group. 2. Briefly outline the bases of social stratification.

This shared history may involve a common ancestry or geographic origin, but it can also be based on shared experiences, such as migration, displacement, or political oppression. 4. Write down Marx’s ideas on the mode of production.
