Ans: In my opinions, Jerome was the best packer freom three of them. He was proud of packing he did. He packed the things systematically but forgot to pack the boots in. His toothbrush always haunted him when he was travelling.

Harris was the worst packer. Heorge and Harris started packing with breaking a cup. Harris packed the strawberry jam on the top of tomato and squashed it. Geporge trod on the butter. They stepped on the things, and put things behind them. They packed the pies on the bottom, and put heavy things on the top.

Q2: How did Montmorency ‘contribute’ to the packing?

Ans: Jerome, George and Harris were packing and it was already messy. Montmorency made the task more tiresome. His ambition in life was to create hurdles and be abused. He came and sat down and disturbed the teaspoons. He pretended that the lemons were rats, and got into the hamper and killed thre of them.

Ans: Yes, the story is really humorous and funny. Jerome was confused about his toothbrush and found it in a boot. He also packed his spectacles in the bag. The incident of butter makes the reader laugh. George ttrod on the butter and it stuck to his slipper. Later he put it on the chair. Harris sat on the chair and it stuck to his bottom. They squashed the tomatoes by putting the stawberry jam on them. Montmorency pretended that the lemons were rats is also fascinating and funny.

A lot of time was wasted as he had to reopen his bag thrice. First, he forgot to pack his boots, then his toothbrush and at last, he forgot his tobacco pouch in the bag.

George and Harris also made a number of mistakes. They broke a cup, squeezed a tomato, played havoc with the butter, smashed the pies by putting heavy things on the top and upset salt over everything. Jerome ought to have been more systematic and organized in his approach to packing.
