Introduction: Lal bahadur shastri was a devoted and great patriot, the 2nd prime minister of Independent India. Aside with this, he contributed actively in India’s freedom struggle. He was one of the important chief of India. He was the head of Indian National Congress and was the first person to be rewarded the Bharat Ratna Posthumously.

Birth and Education: Lal bahadur shastri was born on 2nd October 1904 Mughalsarai, Uttar Pradesh. His father’s name was Munshi Sharda prasad Srivastava. Lal bahadur’s mother’s name was Ramdulari. His father expired in his childhood. His education took place at Harishchandra High School and Kashi Vidhyapeeth. He acquired the title of “Shastri” from Kashi Vidyapeeth.

Contribution in the freedom fight: Shastri ji was a admirer of Gandhian ideology and contributed in many agitation under Gandhiji’s leadership. Due to which he had to go to prison many times.
