SSC-CGL stands for Staff Selection Commission-Combined Graduate Level Examination. SSC CGL exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission which was established in 1975 for selecting staff to fill in the various post in ministries, departments, organisations of the Government of India.

SSC CGL is considered as one of the most preferred examinations for graduate students. Every year lakhs of candidates appear for the examination to fill in the required positions.

SSC CGL exam is conducted in four phases the first two phases are Combined Graduate Level is conducted in online mode whereas the other two are conducted in offline mode

As per the official notification of SSC CGL 2019, the tier 1 exam will be conducted from 2nd to 11th March and the tier 2 exams will be conducted from 22nd to 25th June 2020.

Eligibility Criteria

Here are the eligibility criteria that need to be fulfilled in order to appear for the SSC CGL examinations.

1. Age Limit

The minimum age limit prescribed by SSC is 18 years and the maximum is 32 years. However, there is a relaxation for candidates belonging to the reserved category.

2. Educational Qualification

A candidate must have graduated from the recognised university or institution. However educational qualification varies with the different posts in SSC CGL.

SSC CGL Tier 3 Exam Pattern 

This exam tests the writing skills of the candidates. It is a descriptive type exam and candidates are required to write an essay, letter, application and precis.

SSC CGL Tier 4 Exam Pattern

SSC CGL Tier 4 is a skill test which is mandatory for certain government posts. Here are the tests on which a student is being judged.

1. DEST ( Data Entry Speed Test )

In this test, the typing speed of a candidate is being checked, it is compulsory for all the posts of SSC CGL other than that of complier. In this test, a student is given the printed material in English and candidates needs to type that material accurately on the computer. The total time allotted for typing is 15 minutes. 

2. CPT ( Computer Proficient Test )

This test is held to check the computer knowledge and skills of the candidates. It is held in three modules Word processing, Spreadsheet and generation of slides. CPT is conducted for the posts of Assistant section officer, corporate affairs assistant, Assistant in serious Fraud Investigation Office. 

3. Document Verification 

The last and the final step is document verification as candidates are required to verify all the necessary documents. 

SSC CGL Online Application 2019 

Here is the complete process on the online application of SSC CGL exams. Follow the below steps to successfully apply for SSC CGL 2019. 

1. First of all, you need to login to the official website which is http://ssc.nic.in.

2. After that register yourself as a new using your email id and phone number. You will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number.

3. After registration, click on the “ Apply Button “ and you will get an application form which you need to fill online.

4. Make sure that you have the scanned copies of the required document ( passport size photograph, signatures, thumb impression etc. )

5. After uploading all the details you are required to pay the fees which can be paid online via debit/ credit card or Challan.

6. After registration click on the “Apply Button” to get the application submitted to the portal.

7. After cross-checking all the details click on the “ Submit Button “. Make sure to carefully check all the details because you will not be able to make any changes afterwards. 

8. Download the full application form.

9. Take the print out for future references.
